• For this project, I was given the task of creating a website design based on the story of a personal interest. I decided to do the story of Disney, since I grew up watching Disney films and going to Disney World so this topic was a great personal interest for me. I knew this topic would give me so much room for using illustrations, collage, and color to effectively tell their story.

  • After creating a general moodboard, I continued by creating rough sketches of what I wanted each page of my website to look like. This would make it easier for me when I started making my final versions. I knew I wanted a page explaining the beginning of the Disney company, a page explaining the growth of Disney Animation, a timeline of Disney movies, a page explaining the growth of Disney Parks, and a map of Disney World rides.

  • The final version of my website used gradients as a way to add color without making my website too busy. I also removed some of the decorative elements to make the design more minimalist and less overwhelming. My final version also has more interactive elements, like attendance graphs when you click on highlighted text, dates and information popping up on the timeline, and movie information popping up on the collages.
